Bio: I am a recent college graduate with a degree in American History. I am also a music nerd who likes keeping up with current music and knowing anything about pop songs of the past. Combining the two ambitions into a blog of essays on various topics of popular song history seems like an appropriate thing to do.

    I have music sheets from 1917, 1919 etc…
Where can I donate or what do people do with them?

Hi Kate, great question. You can donate these sheets to library book sales or any other charity thrift sales. I have found that used bookstores are not interested in old sheet music, though; old tunes are not terribly valuable, even my original copy of “Rock-A-Bye Baby” from 1886 is not really worth much. You may find aesthetic value in the cover illustrations, I have a number of songs framed and hanging on my walls. If you’re musically inclined, you could also learn the piano and play these songs; this route may encourage you to become a collector. Thanks for reading.
